Thirteen

As of this writing, there are thirteen hardcover copies of Manual left.

Q: Did you really only print 100 copies?
A: Well, no. I printed more so that the writers and musicians could have a certain number of free copies as well as the option to order a few more at cost. As of now, there may be slightly more than thirteen hardcover copies available for purchase, but we’re talking a very slight number — enough to account for a few hours where I might miss orders #101, #102, #103, etc.

Q: When the hardcovers are gone, is it all digital?
A: No, there is a paperback version, and the paperback looks great.

Q: Will the paperback be cheaper than the hardcover?
A: No, the hardcover is being sold at the paperback price. The grant I got paid solely for printing costs, and, rather than print way more copies than I would ever need, I decided to print a limited amount of hardcover copies and not raise the price on them. In fact, these hardcovers are selling at way below cost.

Q: Will I be able to buy these in other stores (online or not)?
A: Four hardcovers with CDRs will be available at Weirdo Records in Cambridge, which is kind of a part of the BSC’s circulatory system. Other than that, the answer is “maybe”. I have not actively sought distribution for this release, partially because of the complexity of instant download delivery. I also wanted to keep the cost as low as possible, which makes selling quantities at “wholesale” to distributors a bit of a stretch. Now that we’ve sold so many copies directly, this is no longer such a significant issue.

Q: When are these going to ship?
A: The books arrived in Philadelphia today. I will arrive in Philadelphia on December 27th. Orders will ship on the 28th.
